A dry-type transformer is a type of transformer that does not use liquid cooling agents. Unlike traditional oil-immersed transformers, dry-type transformers use air as the cooling medium, thus eliminating the safety hazards such as oil leakage and explosion.
At the same time, dry-type transformers also have the advantages of simple structure and convenient maintenance, making them widely used in various industries. The main components of a dry-type transformer include the main wiring, high and low voltage windings, core, and insulating materials.
The main wiring of a dry-type transformer is usually made of high-purity copper or aluminum, capable of withstanding high temperatures and high currents. It is widely used in local lighting, high-rise buildings, airports, docks, CNC mechanical equipment and other places .
In simple terms, a dry-type transformer refers to a transformer whose core and windings are not impregnated with insulating oil.

When using forced air cooling , the output capacity of the transformer can be increased by 50%.
This method is suitable for intermittent overload operation or emergency accident overload operation;however, due to the significant increase in load loss and impedance voltage during overload, it is in an uneconomical operating state, so it should not be allowed to operate under long-term continuous overload conditions.
Structure type The core is mainly composed of silicon steel sheets and the coils are epoxy resin cast. Insulating tubes are placed between the high and low voltage coils to enhance electrical insulation, and the coils are supported and constrained by pads.
